The Papa Figos Branco is a white wine from the Douro region in Portugal, produced by the renowned Casa Ferreirinha. The name “Papa Figos” means “Fig Eater” and refers to the golden oriole, a rare and colorful bird found in this region.
Grape Varieties and Origin:
This wine is made from Rabigato (45%), Viosinho (20%), Arinto (15%), Códega (12%), Gouveio (5%), and Moscatel (3%). The grapes are sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the subregions of Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, located at approximately 600 meters above sea level. This altitude allows for a slow ripening process, resulting in intense aroma development and well-balanced acidity.
The Papa Figos Branco is an elegant yet vibrant wine that captures the essence of the Douro region, making it suitable for both everyday enjoyment and special occasions.
