Altano

The Altano Tinto DOC Douro is a vibrant and elegant red wine from the world-renowned Douro Valley in northern Portugal, one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world. It is produced by the Symington Family Estates, a respected wine family known for sustainability and top-quality Douro wines.

This wine is made primarily from traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), and Tinta Barroca, which together bring fruitiness, structure, and balance.

In the glass, Altano shows a deep ruby color. The nose reveals aromas of dark berries, cherries, plums, and hints of spice and flowers. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with ripe fruit, well-integrated tannins, and a fresh, elegant finish.

A brief aging period in used oak barrels adds structure without overpowering the fruit. Altano Tinto is an ideal match for grilled meats, pasta, stews, or aged cheese, but it also shines as a relaxed companion to a convivial evening.
