The Soalheiro Mineral Rosé 2023 is an outstanding rosé wine from the renowned Vinho Verde region in the northwest of Portugal, specifically from the Monção e Melgaço subregion. It is produced by Quinta do Soalheiro, one of the region’s leading wineries, celebrated for its innovative approach and the consistently high quality of its wines.
This rosé is a blend of Alvarinho and Pinot Noir, grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Soalheiro. The combination of these two grape varieties imparts a distinctive freshness and minerality to the wine. After manual harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed, followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s freshness and fruit-forward character.
On the nose, the Soalheiro Mineral Rosé reveals a delicate bouquet with aromas of red berries and floral notes. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and well-structured, with a fine minerality and a long, harmonious finish. This wine has received 90 points from Robert Parker and was rated 16.5 points by both Revista de Vinhos and Vinho Grandes Escolhas.
The Soalheiro Mineral Rosé is an excellent choice as an aperitif or paired with light dishes such as sushi, seafood, salads, and grilled fish.
